Facebook Users Go Crazy Over Minor Outage

Facebook experienced  a short outage yesterday morning which resulted in some disgruntled users calling 911.

It was your typical Friday morning in America, except for the fact that Facebook was down, resulting in wide spread pandemonium.

Instead of just getting on with the morning routine, users began calling emergency services, asking when Facebook would be back up and running.

Of course, their calls were met with criticism made emergency workers extremely frustrated.

Sergeant Burton Brink even tweeted- “Facebook is not a Law Enforcement Issue, please don’t call us about it being down, we don’t know when FB will be back up!”

Apparently however, this is nothing new. According to the police officer, “we get calls all the time like this, cable TV, all sorts of things not working, they think we control.”

#Facebookdown also became a top trending topic on twitter and soon even the social media giant released a statement saying- “Facebook is currently experiencing an issue that is affecting all API and web surfaces. Our engineers detected the issue quickly and are working to resolve it ASAP. We’ll update shortly.”

Within the hour Facebook had restored. Thank goodness no one was injured in the mean time.
