Google Chrome to Clean Up Long URL’s

Google Chrome has just announced that they may hide long URL’s from the address bar.

Who looks at the full URL’s anyway?

Chrome is apparently releasing a new update which removes long URL’s and replaces it with just the website name and domain, not the entire URL.

Safari recently adopted this practice on their mobile version, allowing the full URL to only be visible if you tap on the address bar.

Google has already started launching this cleaner URL look on Canary, their experimental version of Chrome.

Canary is often updated daily with new features and while not all of them make it to Chrome if users respond positively to the changes Google often listens.
